Grammy-nominated performing artist Carolyn Malachi’s highly anticipated new “Free Your Mind” music video premieres December 6, 2012 during the Citizens Awards, hosted by the Business Civic Leadership Center of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The music video is directed by Sunchase Media and features Taratibu Youth Association, a nonprofit youth performing arts company based in Mt. Rainier, Maryland. In addition to the video premiere Carolyn Malachi will perform live at the Citizens Awards—accompanied by Taratibu Youth Association.
Malachi, great-granddaughter of renowned jazz musician John Malachi, has always viewed music “as a way to make an impact.” Each view of this socially-innovative video will directly fund a class hour of education for students in East Africa–made possible through a partnership with The School Fund and the Carmelita Group.
“Free Your Mind” tells you that wherever you are in your life right now, your mind put you there,” says Malachi. “Education gives us access to information. What we do with it is what makes all the difference.”
Since 2000, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce has spotlighted and inspired replicable models of positive business impact on people, communities and the environment. The Citizens Awards are taking place at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center, 1300 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, DC.
