How can I or my child audition? What do I have to prepare?

We offer two, official audition dates per year, which can be found on our website or any of our various social media accounts. Otherwise, you may contact the Director or Co-Director to schedule an audition time if there are no upcoming audition dates. All applicants must prepare a song, dance, and spoken word piece to present.

 

What is TYA’s performance fee?

Performance fees vary based on of location, duration of the desired performance, etc. To get a better idea of how much your fee would be before booking please reach out to our administration staff at taratibuyouth@gmail.com.

What can I expect when I audition?

At official auditions, you will participate in three or four short classes and then be expected to perform your prepared material (song, dance, spoken word). You should be dressed to move. Applicants will be notified of to their acceptance and/or placement in the organization after auditions.

Do I need experience to audition?

No, experience is not necessary for people who want to become members. However, TYA is a performing company, not simply a dance class, so potential members who are coming with none or limited prior experience should come ready to work and to learn.

 

Does TYA perform outside of the DMV?

Yes, we have previously done traveling performances. However, this is done on a case-by-case basis. Therefore, if you would like to book a performance that may be outside of the DMV, please contact us at taratibuyouth@gmail.com at your earliest convenience.
